8 Things about The Film Panel Notetaker

This is something I don't normally do, but I thought for once, I'd let loose and get in on the fun all the other film bloggers are having with this. Thanks for tagging me, Sujewa!

Rules (copied from DIY Filmmaker Sujewa's blog):
1. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
2. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged write their own blog post about their eight things and include these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and that they should read your blog.

My Eight Things:
(in no particular order that are probably not so "random" per se, but are more "relevant," if anything else)

1. I use Marble Composition (r) notebooks to write my notes in that was given to me as a gift from my co-hort A.M. Peters last year for the winter holidays.


2. I use multiple color ink pens, also given to me as a gift by above mentioned crony.

3. I like to arrive at film panel discussions a few minutes before they begin so I can jot down in my notebook who's sitting where on the "dais" and assign them a number, which makes it that much easier for me to take my notes during the discussion.

4. Even though I jot down the panelists names, I like it when the moderator "briefly" introduces them.


5. I wish I could go to all the film panel discussions in the world, but that would take an army, therefore, if anyone wants to form a brigade, more notetakers are always welcome.


6. I like it when the moderator keeps the panelists as much as possible on topic, and knows when to move on when things slow down a bit. Occasional improvizing is allowed, so long as it doesn't veer too far off the path.


7. I like it when the moderator repeats what people in the audience ask during the Q&As, because there aren't always microphones available, or people don't speak loud enough...and by the way, I like it also when audience members try to stay on topic when asking questions. An occasional complimentary statement is okay, as long as there's not a whole laundry list of them.


8. I don't have much of a sense of smell. (OK, this one is actually random and has nothing to do with taking notes at film panel discussions)
